The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Friday vowed to stop former Governor of Rivers State, Rotimi Ameachi, from returning to power.
Wike made the vow when Vice President Kashim Shettima commissioned the Aguma Palace Road and the New Market Road in the Gwagwalada Area Council of the FCT.
The Minister accused Amaech of being unhappy because he is out of power.
In his words, “Because you have left office, you are angry. You said Nigerians are angry. You want to come back to power; you won’t come back.”
Wike did not only slam the former Minister of Transportation, he also challenged opposition coalition under the African Democratic Congress to “show their scorecards”.
“You never made angry Nigerians happy, but [President] Tinubu stayed in office for six months and you started saying Nigerians are angry,” he added.
“They said the coalition has started…When will you stop deceiving Nigerians? Somebody came into office six months then you started the coalition, but you had the opportunity to be Minister of Transportation for eight years. What did you do?”
Wike boasted of defeating Amaechi’s political party in the last two presidential election in Rivers State.
Amaechi had expressed his desire to run for the office of the president in the 2027 general election.
During his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Thursday, promised to serve a single term of four years if the ADC coalition chooses him as the party flagbearer.
