A Nigerian businesswoman has cried out after being denied entry to the United States after immigration officers examined her Instagram account.
The businesswoman, in a video that started making the rounds on social media on Sunday, said she was detained for 24 hours and subjected to intense questioning.
According to her, she had flown to Texas with a B1/B2 visa, which is typically granted for tourism or business meetings.
She added that the immigration officers examined her private chats with customers before ultimately dismissing the reason she gave for her trip.
In her words, “I was denied entrance into the U.S. and that is because my visa [is] a B1/B2 visa which is [for] tourism [and] business meetings.
โWhen I landed, I was detained for 24 hours and I was questioned. I told them I was going to exhibit but I did not know any better because the US has your data and your Instagram page.
“Apparently, my Instagram says different. They even checked all my messages with my customers. The customers I have been telling that we are coming, they can pick up and all of that.โ
Watch the businesswoman tearfully narrate her ordeal.
