Show promoter Samson Balogin, better known as Sam Larry, has broken his silence on allegations surrounding the death of Afrobeats singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.
Sam Larry, in a recent chat with social media commentator and activist Martins Otse, aka VeryDarkMan, said he had never assaulted the Mohbad.
Addressing a viral video that captured him confronting the singer at a beach opcation, he noted that the nine seconds clip was misinterpreted.
According to him, he only approached Mohbad to demand for a refund after the singer allegedly failed to honour a show he booked him for.
In his words, “That video was just 9 seconds. I was with my son at the beach. When I saw Mohbad, I walked up to him and demanded my money for a show he didn’t show up for. Zlatan was there and quickly stepped in to resolve it. There was no assault, I’ve never touched Mohbad all my life.”
He said at the time of Mohbad’s death he was in Dubai, while his associate and the singer’s former boss, Naira Marley, was in Amsterdam, Netherland.
Many Nigerians have accused Sam Larry of being responsible for the events leading up to Mohbad’s passing, especially after their confrontation in the video, which many considered as evidence of harassment.
He also said Zlatan, who was captured in the video was warned to stay away from the controversy.
‘Zlatan says if he talk, blood will come out of his mouth,” he said.
