Founder of Citadel Global Community Church, Pastor Tunde Bakare, on Wednesday held a private conversation with President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
According to Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, who shared photo from the meeting on his X account, the visit took place at the President’s Lagos residence.
After the meetimg, Bakare told the Nigerian Television Authority his lifelong dream for the country.
“My life and personal vision have been to see a nation that works in my lifetime. I’ve discussed these with the President.
“Those things are not hidden, but I’ve learnt that you allow the person in charge to do whatsoever he wills with your suggestion.
“So, Mr President and I had a robust conversation. I’m glad he received me well, and I trust God to help our nation.”
Bakara also prayed that God guides and gives the President wisdom to help steer the country in a positive direction for which he will be remembered.
When asked about his expectation of the administration in two years time, he replied, “I hope to see a nation that is peaceful. A nation where Nigerians are their brothers’ keepers.
“I’d like to see a nation where the best from the North and South work together to steer Nigeria in the right direction.”
He noted that leaders have danced around “projects for too long”, sayinh it’s time concrete actions are taken to prevent Nigerians from living in “abject poverty”.
Bakare contested the All Progressive Congress presidential primary in 2022 but lost to Tinubu after securing zero delagte votes.
The cleric, in April, criticised President Tinubu for declaring a state of emergency in Rivers State.
He asked him to accept other people’s advice and caution him against playing God.
He also faulted the National Assembly for the suspension of Senator Natasha Apoti-Udughan of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
