Former Senator Shehu Sani of Kaduna Central Distract on Wednesday slammed opposition leaders for expecting President Bola Tinubu to resolve the crisis in their parties.
Shehu, in an interview on Channels Television, described the opposition leaders’ expectations as “illogical”.
According to him, the ruling All Progressive Congress would not help to resolve the crisis in opposition parties because they are threats to the APC.
He called on leaders of various parties to resolve their internal crisis by themselves.
In his words, “It is unfortunate that the opposition in the country is looking up to the president to solve their problems.
“How logical is it when you have a problem in your house, then you start blaming your neighbour or adversary for it when you should address it?
“If there is a problem in the PDP, it is for the PDP to solve; if there is a problem in the Labour Party and SDP, it is for the Labour Party and SDP to solve. If there is a problem in the NNPP, it is for the NNPP to solve.
“I don’t know whether they are also trying to ask the president to come to their party and solve their problems.”
He added, “The blame game by opposition parties is not just illogical but shows they are unserious and lack accountability.”
Several opposition leaders, including former Governor of Kaduna State Nasir El-Rufai, and Labour Party 2023 residential candidate, Peter Obi, have accused Tinubu of being responsible for the crisis across political parties in the country.
Tinubu, however, in his Democracy Day speech, noted that he enjoyed seeing opposition parties in disarray.
He urged leaders of the parties to put their house in order while noting that he will not help them to resolve their internal crisis.
