Controversial cleric Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has advised Nigerian students on courses to avoid in university.
According to him, prospectively university students must avoid studying political science, history, microbiology, sociology, and library information, especially if their parents do not have connections.
Odumeje, who issued the advice in a video that is making the rounds on X social media platform, said it is better to learn barbing than to go to university to study Library Information.
He urged students to study meaningful courses to make education a blessing for their families.
He insinuated that there are a lot of jobless graduates because they wasted four to five years of their lives in university studying the wrong courses.
“All these poor people if your father does not have any connection in politics or government, don’t go to school and begin to study political science, history, microbiology and sociology. These are useless courses. What are you doing with them?
“Another one is Library Information Science. It is better for you to go and learn barbing than study that course. We don’t waste our time and money on nonsense now. For education to be a blessing in your family, let the course you study in school be meaningful. That’s why we have a lot of jobless people.
“When you see educated people in business, you will know. Please avoid these courses, and don’t waste four to five years in universities. I am here to guide you as a prophet.”
Odumeje said.
Odumeje is known for his controversial remarks.
Recently, he expressed his intention to contest for the office of the president in 2027.
He emphasised on the need for a young leader who os digitally minded, saying the older politicians are old cargos.
