The Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited on Monday increased the price of Premium Motor Spirit, also known as petrol, at its retail outlets to N945/litre in Abuja, and N915/litre in Lagos, respectively.

According to the Punch Newspaper, the new prices were disclosed at NNPCL-owned retail outlets – the Federal Housing area of Kubwa, Abuja, displayed N945 per litre – and at its Lagos station in Igando reflected the revised N915 per litre rate.

The price of oil has been soaring since Israel launched an unprovoked attack on Iran on June 13, 2025. This weekend’s additional strike by the United State has raised more concern.
Experts in the oil sector have already warned that Nigerians could be paying over N1000 per litre in the coming weeks should the war escalate further.
