The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons on Friday declared singer Darlington Okoye, better known as Speed Darlington wanted over alleged involvement in rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking.

NAPTIP made this known through its social media account and urged the public to contact and provide the agency with information on his whereabouts.

“WANTED BY NAPTIP. Darlington Okoye, aka Speed Darlington, is wanted in connection with alleged offences including rape, cyberbullying, and cyberstalking,” the agency wrote on Instagram.

“Anyone with credible information on his whereabouts is urged to contact NAPTIP immediately. Call: 07030000203, [email protected].”

Briefly.ng learnt that this comes a month after NAPTIP sent Okoye an invite to appear for questioning at the Wuse Zone 5 office. its Abuja Head Office, following his admission to having sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old girl.

The singer had sparked outrage on Children Day after he claimed in a livestream that he once slept with a 15-year-old virgin. His remarks triggered widespread condemnation and calls for his arrest, with many accusing him of confessing to statutory rape.

Okoye, however, apologised and claimed he made the remarks in order to promote his new song “Village Girl”.

The backlash drew the attention of the Lagos State Government, and it reported the case to NAPTIP, which sebsequently summoned him for questioning, but he never honoured.
