Liverpool FC on Thursday confirmed the signing of left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth for a £40m deal.
Kerkez, 21, scored two goals and provided six assists for Bournemouth last season in 38 Premier League appearances.
The Hungary international, who signed a five-year deal with the Premier League champions, is Arne Slot’s latest player following the signing of Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen for £29.5 million and £116 million, respectively.
“I am really happy,” Kerkez told the club’s official website after sealing the deal. “It’s a real honour for me, a privilege to come to play for one of the biggest clubs in the world – the biggest club in England. I’m just really, really happy and excited.
“After this, I’ll go home and in my hometown enjoy a few days, and then I can’t really wait to come back and put the training kit on and start to train and prepare for the season.”
He promised to give his all for the club and expressed his desire to “win trophies with the club and to hopefully score some goals at Anfield”.
“I can’t wait to hear the roar. And see you soon,” he added.
Liverpool’s summer spending has surpassed £200 million as they’re rebuilding following the departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid early in the month.
