Kylian Mbappe has sent a congratulatory message to his former side Paris Saint-Germain following the club’s first-ever UEFA Champions League victory.
PSG trashed Inter Milan 5-0 at the Allienz Arena in Munich, Germany on Saturday, May 31, 2025, to win the Champions League for the first time in the club’s history.
Mbappe, who spent seven years at the Parc des Princes, guided the club to several trophy victories but fell short of winning the Europe’s premier club completion.
“The big day has finally arrived,” the World Cup winner posted on Instagram. “Victory and with the manner of a whole club, Congratulations, PSG.”
During Mbappe’s spell at PSG, he won twelve trophies – Ligue 1 (6), Coupe de France (4), and Coupe de la league (2) titles.
PSG have been craving a Champions League title since Qatar Sports Investments bought the French club in 2011.
They came close to winning the title in 2020 but suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bayern Munich in Lisbon.
Over the years, the club spent humongously on big stars such as Neymar and Lionel Messi but still couldn’t win the continental title.
A season after Mbappe departed the club to join Real Madrid, PSG are the champions of Europe.
Achraf Hakimi, Désiré Doué, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Senny Mayulu all scored on the night to deliver the title.
