The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Monday, said Friday, June 6, and Monday, June 7, 2025, are public holidays to mark this year’s Eid-ul-Adha celebration.
Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration in a statement on behalf of the Federal Government, wished “Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul-Adha celebration”.
The Minister also urged Nigerians at home and in the Diaspora to continue to embody Prophet Muhammad’s spirit of sacrifice, obedience, and faith.
He also called on the citizens to celebrate the period by praying for peace, unity, and prosperity of the country.
He noted that President Bola Tinubu’s “people-oriented reforms and initiative” are to place Nigeria on the path of progress.
The statement reads, “The minister assured Nigerians, that the people-oriented reforms and initiatives carried out, in furtherance of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, is to restore Nigeria on the path of progress.
“While wishing the Muslim Ummah a happy Eid-ul- Adha celebration, the minister urged all Nigerians to join hands with the present administration in its efforts to restore the glory of Nigeria as a great nation.”
