Surah Animashaun, chairwoman of Epe Local Government Area (LGA) has suspended two self-acclaimed new monarchs of thr Epe Kingdom.
Briefly.ng learnt that two high chiefs, Adeniyi Odedeogboro and Iskilu Ikuforiji are parading themselves as new Olu Epe of Epe Kingdom followokg the passing of Oba Shefiu Adewale on Saturday.
Animashaun also cancelled all Eid al-Adha and Jumat prayers and celebration at the “First Epe Central Mosque, Oke Balogun and Eid Ground at Eid Street, Oke Balogun Epe, respectively”.
According to the chairwoman, there measures were taken to prevent any foreseen security issues that may rise from their followers as both installed themselves as thr new Olu of Epe.
Animashaun, in a letter, noted that further details will be communited to the community.
Oba Shefiu Adewale had died in the early hours ofSaturday, May 31, 2025, at age 86.
