Human rights activist and lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has implied that only a northern candidate can challenged President Bola Tinubu in 2027.
He, therefore, urged Peter Obi of the Labour Party to accept being the running mate to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to unseat Tinubu in 2027 presidential election.
According to him, northern politicians hold all the aces to defeat the ruling All Progressive Congress.
“The best Obi can get in 2027 is Atiku’s VP this is because Atiku and the northern politicians now hold all the aces. Only northern politicians have the capacity to challenge Tinubu. Deluded obidients won’t still be able to read the room even with the clear hand writing on the wall,” he wrote on his X account.
Reacting to user @ogbucyril’s comment that it’s better Obi contest as presidential candidate and score “one vote than to become anybody’s VP”.
He made the assertion Obi’s flagbearer cabdidacy will aid Tinubu’s victory.
“When we say you all are working for Tinubu now, you start crying and calling us names,” he replied.
Obi contested as the Labour Party presidential candidate in 2023 general election and came third, scoring over 6 million votes.
Atiku came second with almost 7 million votrs, while Tinubu won with under 8.8 million votes.
