Nigerian Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known professionally by his stage name Davido, on Wednesday expressed excitements after reuniting with his first child and daughter Imade.
Davido, who shared how he felt with photo of himself and imade on instagram, also posted screenshot of a FaceTime call featuring himself, the 10-year-old, and his second daughter Hailey.
The singer, in a short emotional caption wrpte, “Best day of my life”.
This is coming amid the ongoing custody battle between the singer and Imade’s mother Sophia Momodu, which began in 2022.
Davido, in June 2023, had dragged Sophia to court to seek joint custody of their daughter, saying he’s being denied access to her.
The singer also told court that Sophia is demanding excessive financial support for their daughter, a claim she denied.
In response, Imade’s mother filed a counter affidavit opposing the singer’s request.
According to her, Davido cannot be trusted with the care of imade due to his lifestyle and cited the tragic death of his son Ifeanyi as reason.
She insisted that a joint or full custody of their daughter with Davido should not be granted.
Briefly.ng learnt that Sophia and Davido relationship became more sour after the singer rekindled his romsnce with Chioma Rpwland, whom he married in 2024.
