Nigerian singer Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, best known by his stage name Bella Shmurda, has opened up about the limitation that come with being a celebrity.
Shmurda, in a recent chat with Tweety7, said success has limited his freedom.
According to him, he used to move freely before he became popular, but no longer enjoys such privilege, while noting that he hasn’t entirely enjoyed the celebrity lifestyle.
“I haven’t entirely enjoyed the celebrity lifestyle,” he said. “I just did for a little. Before I became a celebrity I used to move freely and hang out with friends. But now, it feels like I am in a box.”
The singer also lamented the pressure of being the primary benefactor for his family, saying it’s hard and the reason “the money must keep coming, if not I am in trouble”.
The “Cash App” crooner said he knew he would be successful before fame came because he always had the feeling.
“If you are going to make it, the feeling will be there. Naturally, you will feel it as long as you’re working, you’ll be feeling it,” he added.
Shmurda came into the limelight after featuring Olamide on his hit song “Vision 2020” in 2019. He went on to release “Cash App” with Zlatan and Lincoln which was also a hit song.
