Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, ex-Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State, on Wednesday attended the unveiling of the main opposition political party, the Africa Democratic Congress, in the Federal Capital Territory.
Former governors across the country, Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna State), and Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers State), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun State), were also at the unveiling.
Other attendees: Senator Dino Meleye; Senators Gabriel Suswam and Ireti Kingibe of the Labour Party; and a former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha.
Former Minister of Youth and Sports, Solomon Dalung, and Publisher of Ovation Magazine , Dele Momodu also attended the event.
Some chieftains of the People’s Democratic Party wooed members of the party to join the coalition party on Tuesday.
Former Senate President David Mark resigned from the PDP following his appointment as ADC interim national chairman.
The opposition coalition also named Aregbesola as the ADC interim national secretary.
The coalition looks to pose a single challenge to the ruling All Progressive Congress in the 2027 gebetal election.
