The opposition coalition has written to the Independent National Electoral Commission requesting for the registration of a new political party ahead of the 2027 general election.
The letter noted that that the new political party shall be named All Democratic Alliance, with ADA as its acronym and “Justice for All” as its slogan.
The letter was co-signed by the party’s national chairman Akin Ricketts, and the pro tem national secretary, Abdullahi Musa Elayo, and was received by an INEC official on June 20.
The letter read, “We respectfully write to the Independent National Electoral Commission requesting the registration of our association, the All Democratic Alliance as a political party,” the letter reads.
“This is sequel to the decision taken by the Nigerian National Coalition Group to sponsor our association for full registration.
“The name of the party shall be All Democratic Alliance with ADA as our acronym and ‘Justice for All’ as our slogan.
“We have further attached our manifesto encompassing details of our party ideology and our constitution providing the legal framework that defines our identity, structures, and organisation.”
Former Governor of Kuduna State, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar are the ones spearheading the calition.
Former Governor of Rivers State and Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi is also in the coalition.
