Nigerian winger Ademola Lookman on Friday presented his CAF African Player of the Year Award to President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.
Lookman, who won the the award after playing a pivotal role in Atlanta’s Europa League final in 2024, met Governor Sanwo-Olu’s at the Government House in Marine alongside his father, Mr Adeyinka Lookman, and the President’s Senior Special Adviser on Grassroots Sports Development, Adeboye Adeyinka.
He met President Tinubu at his Lagos residence where he proudly presented the award to him.
The National Sports Commission, Mallam Shehu Dikko, #0$9 joined the delegation.
Governor Sanwo-Olu’s Special Assistant f New Media, Jubril Gawat shared the photos on X.
Before Lookman won the CAF Player of the Year Award, Victor Osimhen had won it a year prior – Nigerian players have been the winners of the award in the last two years.
Osimhem won it after guiding Napoli to their first Serie A title win in 33 years and also finished as the league’s top scorer with 26 goals.
The Italian Footballers’s Association (AIC) also handed Osimhen the Serie A Footballer of the Year award.
